France is a country known for its extreme preservation of culture, especially the French language; hence, unlike people in other Western European nations, the French resist incorporating the English language in any aspect of life. All films are dubbed in French; and they even have French computer terminology, including the word "computer" itself. The French also are reluctant to speak English, even with foreign tourists. Therefore, the ability to speak at least basic French is extremely helpful when visiting France, and the minimal effort to communicate in this beautiful language will be appreciated and respected by French people.
